Related Associations and Groups

Since its formation in 1920, the Air Force Association has fostered the spirit of friendship formed on service; supported our service men and women through advice, liaison and representation; and continued to honour the heritage and proud traditions of the Air Force.

The Bomber Command Commemorative Day Foundation was created to ensure Australians never forget the more than 4,000 aircrew who lost their lives serving with Bomber Command in the Second World War. Formed in 2007 after concerns that this sacrifice was fading from public memory, the Foundation established an annual national commemoration at the Australian War Memorial to honour not only the fallen but all who served — including the ground crews whose work sustained every mission. The first service was held in 2008 and has since expanded across Australia to most capital cities. Guided by dedicated patrons and presidents, the Foundation continues to uphold a solemn commitment: to commemorate the courage, service and sacrifice of Bomber Command veterans and ensure their legacy endures for future generations.

The Pathfinders Family & Friends Group brings together relatives, descendants, and supporters of the Pathfinder Force. The group has a strong connection with RAAF Base Richmond through the annual Air Mobility Group Awards Dinner.

The 460 Squadron Veterans & Friends Group keeps relatives, descendants, and supporters connected through shared remembrance. The group has a strong connection with present-day 460 Squadron members in the RAAF.
